By using VanOverlander ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to the website at vanoverlander.com and all associated mobile applications.

VanOverlander is a community platform for discovering and sharing camping spots, overlanding services, and resources. Location data comes from a combination of community submissions and publicly licensed datasets including OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).

Camping and road conditions change frequently. Information on VanOverlander is provided by the community and may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect.

Always verify conditions before visiting a location. Check local land management agency websites, call ahead, and use your own judgment. VanOverlander is not responsible for access issues, road conditions, fees, permit requirements, closures, safety hazards, or any other conditions at locations listed on the platform.

Never rely solely on VanOverlander for navigation or safety decisions.

You must be 13 or older to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not create accounts for others, share your account, or use the Service to impersonate any person or entity.

By submitting locations, check-ins, photos, or other content ("Content") to VanOverlander, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that Content as part of the Service.

You represent that:

• You have the right to submit the Content
• The Content does not infringe any third-party rights
• The Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
• Photos you submit are taken by you or you have rights to share them

Content contributed to the platform is made available to the community under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0) license unless otherwise noted.

You may not use VanOverlander to:

• Submit false, misleading, or malicious location information
• Scrape, crawl, or mass-download content from the platform
• Access or attempt to access other users' accounts
• Upload illegal content or content that violates others' rights
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Interfere with the operation of the Service

Many locations on VanOverlander are on public land managed by federal, state, or local agencies. You are responsible for knowing and following applicable rules, including permit requirements, fire restrictions, vehicle restrictions, and camping limits.

We encourage all users to practice Leave No Trace principles and to respect the land, local communities, and other visitors.

The VanOverlander name, logo, and original platform code are owned by VanOverlander. Map tiles are provided by MapTiler. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). User-submitted content is owned by the respective contributors.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, are harmful to the community or platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VanOverlander and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred at locations found through the platform.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
